Northumbrian Cobles

Could have been taken 100 years ago ..... but actually taken in 2009 as she entered the Tyne. You don't see cobles under sail very often these days.

Peggy, moored in the Tyne off South Shields, shows her steeply raked mast.

Elizabeth B on the Wear, passing Corporation Quay on her way to sea, 2010.

The Joan Dixon, looking very neglected, at the mouth of the Ouseburn, 2010.

Supreme II, drawn up on the beach in Craster Harbour, some time in the 1990s.

The coble Boy's Own in Seaham North Dock, New Year's Day 2012.

Lilly of the Valley in Sunderland marina, February 2013
